Rollcage

See the gigabytes your AI agents keep on your Mac

Coding agents quietly fill your disk with transcripts, caches, checkpoints and VM images, spread across hidden folders. Rollcage lists what each one keeps, with sizes, tells you what every folder is for, and moves what you pick to the Trash.

What you can do

  • See the total per agent and the size of every folder inside.
  • Browse into any folder and preview files, so you know what you're about to remove.
  • Read what each folder is: a cache that will be rebuilt, your history, or settings and sign-in.
  • Move what you don't need to the Trash.

Safe by design

Nothing is deleted outright. Everything goes to the Trash, so you can put it back. And Rollcage can only touch the known agent folders, not the rest of your disk.

Caches are safe to clear. Transcripts are your session history: removing them means you can no longer resume those sessions, and they drop out of usage tracking. Settings and sign-in folders are labelled so you don't remove them by accident.

Questions

Is it safe to delete the ~/.claude folder?

Not the whole folder: it holds your settings, hooks and sign-in as well as history. Rollcage labels each part so you can clear old transcripts and caches and leave the settings alone.

Why is my agent's folder so large?

Usually transcripts and file checkpoints from months of sessions, plus caches. Desktop apps can also keep VM images of several gigabytes.

Can I get something back after removing it?

Yes, until you empty the Trash. Rollcage moves items there instead of deleting them.
