Terms of use
Last updated 12 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Nicolae Maties (“we”), who makes and sells Rollcage. By downloading, installing or buying Rollcage you agree to them. Questions: support@rollcage.app.
Free trial
You can use every feature of Rollcage free for 7 days from the first time you open it. After the trial, taking new snapshots, the Guard and auto-protect pause until you buy a licence. You can always restore from snapshots you already have.
Your licence
- A licence costs $39, paid once. The price shown at checkout includes or adds any tax that applies where you live.
- It lets one person use Rollcage on up to 3 Macs they personally use, for as long as they like. To move it to another Mac, remove it from one first in Rollcage › License. Teams need one licence per person.
- It includes all updates to Rollcage version 1. A future major version may be sold separately; your version keeps working.
- Don’t share, resell or publish your licence key, and don’t try to bypass the licence check or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
- Rollcage is licensed to you, not sold. We keep ownership of the software and its name.
All sales are final
The 7-day trial lets you use every feature before you pay, so we don’t offer refunds. Your licence key is digital content delivered immediately after payment: at checkout you agree to receive it straight away and acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel within 14 days.
This doesn’t affect your statutory rights. If Rollcage is faulty or not as described, contact support@rollcage.app and we’ll repair or replace it or, where the law requires, refund you. If a payment is reversed or charged back, its licence key stops working.
What Rollcage does and doesn’t do
- Rollcage keeps snapshots of the folders you protect on the same disk as those folders. It is an undo for mistakes, not a backup: it can’t help if your disk fails or your Mac is lost. Keep your own backups.
- The Guard works through the official hook systems of each AI coding tool. It reduces the risk of an agent reading secrets or running destructive commands, but it can’t catch everything (for example code an agent writes to a file and then runs), and those tools may change how their hooks work.
- You remain responsible for what you allow AI agents to do on your computer and for the data you give them.
No warranty
Rollcage is provided “as is”. We work hard to make it reliable, but we don’t promise it will be free of errors or will always prevent data loss or exposure of secrets.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, lost profits or indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Rollcage. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your rights as a consumer.
Ending the licence
If you break these terms in a serious way we may end your licence. You can stop using Rollcage at any time; uninstalling it and deleting ~/Library/Application Support/Rollcage removes it and its snapshots.
Changes and law
We may update these terms for future purchases and will change the date above when we do. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you’re a consumer you also keep the protection of the law where you live, and you can bring claims in your local courts.
